CorticalDB

CCortex is a massive spiking neural network simulation of the human brain. It is the largest, most realistic neural network ever built, with 20 billion neurons and 20 trillion interconnections.

CCortex mimics the detailed structure of the brain, including the cortex, basal ganglia, thalamus and hippocampus, combining data from CorticalDB’s CorticalMap and NanoAtlas projects.

CCortex has widespread commercial applications, ranging from improved pattern recognition, search engine and database tools to advanced cognitive systems with decision-making and communication abilities.

CorticalMap is the world’s largest human brain database. It contains data mined from the neuroscience literature on the morphology, connectivity, chemistry and functionality of billions of neurons, including detailed information on synapses, neurotransmitters, genetic markers, neuron firing patterns, morphologies and populations, emergent circuitry patterns and other structural properties.

CorticalMap will enable new research applications for the fields of neuroscience, medicine and computer science, providing users with advanced tools to search and model neurological data.
